Ironic that you need the authenticator app to log in to the battle net app.A place where new players of World of Warcraft Retail & Classic can ask questions, learn from more experienced players, and meet others! When I had the app turned on, when I had the app it was always showing me online and I'd be getting messages I cba with when I'm not in game Comment by Jesther on T06:48:35-05:00 If I look at my friend list these days, theres always at least around 60 people "online" but it's count people with the mobile app as online. But does anyone know, is there a way to have the add always set to show offline or something. I honestly don't care about them merging it all into one app, infact I'm shocked it's took this long. I'm just pointing the most likely reason to merge them.įrom a technical point, it's probably easier to keep them separated, but this way they reduce developing/maintenance costs AND they funnel the people that only had the Auth App to the digital store. Times I've seen a notification trying to sell me something? None. You know Android has notification permissions, right? I've had both apps for years. Mainly so they can spam you with notifications trying to sell you things through the app. I don't really see the point of this change, but whatever. I can run that on my old phone that only gets turned on when I need to authenticate something, connects to the internet via WiFi and doesn't even have a SIM card in it. Why would I want that privacy sucking bloatware on my phone if I don't use it through the desktop app? If they're going to jettison their stand alone authenticator then they should let us use something like the Google authenticator. I don't use it to "stay connected" or to browse what's new. The only thing I use the desktop app for is to launch WoW or WoW Classic. Comment by TheiaDarkHeart on T00:57:30-05:00 Kind of sucks the app doesn't give you a widget to ckeck the code without going to the app. If you could afford a smart phone all those years ago you can afford one now. Those things were very expensive back then. Can you please at least allow for 3rd party authenticators such as Authy? I have not owned a smart phone since 2006. *Core Hound Pup and extra bag slots not available in World of Warcraft Classic games.
